The Introduction to Dog Grooming gives you an insight into the world of dog grooming in our professional grooming salon with our friendly, knowledgable and supportive team.

 

Accredited by I-Pet Network and regulated by Ofqual our advanced Dog Grooming Award offers the highest industry standard skills necessary to work with success. Learn the practical and theory skills with our team and sign-off your skills as you progress. There are no formal end-of-course exams and you do not need any formal qualifications to start the course, just a willingness to learn.

Level 3 Introduction to Dog Grooming Award:

• 301: Health and Safety in a Dog Grooming Environment
• 318: Prepare, Style and Finish Several Dog Breeds

The qualification is designed for candidates who wish to gain the skills and knowledge to prepare, style and finish several dog breeds and understand health and safety in a dog grooming salon. The qualification is a combination of practical and theory teaching.

 

Candidates will groom at least 3 dogs to include a minimum of 2 different breeds, covering 2 different coat types. There are no pre-requisites to starting the qualification, meaning candidates can join at level 3 without having completed a lower level (level 2) course first. Candidates will be trained in practical skills such as prepping, bathing, scissoring, clipping, styling and nail trimming on several dog breeds.

 

Uniquely, candidates are continually assessed via practical demonstration and coursework. There is no requirement to sit a formal exam in order to achieve the qualification. This holistic approach has been welcomed by candidates across the UK, Ireland and Internationally. iPET Network designed the qualification to have an excellent balance of theoretical and practical learning. Feedback suggests that this qualification takes the pressure out of adult learning and this approach appeals to a wide range of Candidates.

 

The iPET Network Level 3 Award in an Introduction to Dog Grooming will demonstrate to an employer or the general public that candidates have a basic understanding of dog grooming principles. Candidates will leave with a basic knowledge base to continue learning or working in the Dog Grooming Industry. It has been designed specifically for those looking to start the journey into Dog Grooming or those who already groom dogs (as a hobby) but would like to gain a nationally recognised qualification.

 

The units and evidence completed as part of the iPET Network Level 3 Award can be recognised as prior learning should a candidate want to progress and complete the iPET Network Level 3 Certificate or Diploma in Dog Grooming and Salon Management qualification. You can transfer onto the higher course, once the additional fees have been arranged.
